DORMAN AND BREEN ARCHITECTS

Dorman and Breen Architects (D+B) was established in 1978 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and is currently headquartered in Albuquerque. The firm is well known and respected for their services on large commercial projects in the state of New Mexico, but also in Arizona, California, and Hawaii. In addition to religious facilities, the firm’s project experience includes offices, banking, and manufacturing.


In 2002 Larry Breen, A.I.A., principal of Dorman and Breen (D+B) felt a calling to focus the practice on church and religious facility design. His commitment to this direction became evident when he joined the National Association of Church Design Builders and became a Certified Church Consultant. Currently approximately 85% of the firm’s work is religious facilities of all Christian denominations.

As President of D+B, Larry Breen is responsible for the firm’s day-to-day management and business operations. His primary role will be to lead design and the planning portion of the project. He is responsible for ensuring that the client’s needs and requirements are met during the course of the project.
Larry is an award-winning designer who has extensive experience in Master Planning, new construction, remodeling, and renovations. He is also a licensed contractor, and able to provide construction management services. Larry genuinely believes that his focus on religious facilities is a form of ministry. He frequently provides pro bono consulting to small churches, or those that face considerable financial constraints, assisting them in achieving their unique planning goals. He is active around the state in helping to educate church leadership about the building process and getting the most out of their particular facilities to support the church’s ministry mission, vision, and values.

Elaine Breen, Marketing Director
Education: Bachelor of University Studies, University of New Mexico

Elaine’s role in the design process is that of a liaison and advocate for the firm’s clientele, ensuring that their requirements and concerns are addressed. As a Certified Church Consultant, she works with church clergy to help tailor the firm’s services to the congregation’s ministry and facility needs.
Elaine retired from Xerox Corporation after twenty years as a sales manager and quality specialist. She brings sharp attention to the quality and process while also helping to assess the church’s ministry needs. One of Elaine’s most fundamental responsibilities is also coordinating seminars to educate church clergy about the building process.

Mark Baczek, A.I.A., Registered Architect: New Mexico #2159
Education: Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, University of New Mexico

Mark will be involved in the design, oversight of construction documents, and construction administration. He has specialized knowledge in building code compliance and designing for quality, constructability, and cost efficiency.
Mark is a vital member of the design-build team who aligns the concerns of the owner, contractor, and architect throughout the project. He brings decades of experience in building design and knowledge of the construction industry to the firm.

Anthony Santi, Intern Architect
Education: Master of Architecture, Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, University of New Mexico

Anthony will assist in the project by generating various design possibilities using computerized renderings, His comprehensive design sense and aptitude with computer rendering software enables him to quickly produce three-dimensional design sketches to give clients an understanding and illustration of the building elements.
Anthony brings a fresh perspective to the firm, as well as expertise with new technology and software used for the new generation of architectural design. He is invaluable in creating accurate construction documents.
